Teak requires NO maintenance or care of any kind and will last a lifetime in any climate!

We DO NOT recommend oiling your teak. When you oil teak you are only adding color to the surface of the wood. Unfortunately oiling teak creates a maintenance nightmare. Please do not oil your teak!

If you prefer the "oiled look" of teak, we recommend Sikkens Cetol Natural Teak, which may be purchased at any marine or boat store. Make sure you get the Natural Teak as there are many varieties of Cetol.

Follow the directions on the can. You won't be disappointed! Cetol in NOT a varnish and does not require stripping over time, only reapplying. If you do not apply Cetol, over time your teak will turn a silver patina from exposure to direct sunlight. As we tan from the sun, teak turns a light silver from the sun.

This is an oxidation process and can be easily removed if desired by a "light" pressure wash, teak cleanser or sanding. We hope you enjoy your teak furniture for a lifetime!
